Rafiq Merchant

As vice president of consulting at GEP, Rafiq is responsible for spearheading large-scale procurement transformation initiatives, strategic cost reduction programs, and the implementation of managed service engagements across GEP's client base.

Additionally, Rafiq supports top-line revenue growth within the technology, media, and telecommunications vertical. His expertise lies in optimizing processes, streamlining operations, and cultivating sustainable partnerships to drive efficiency and innovation.

Prior to joining GEP, Rafiq held the position of senior operations manager at Uber Technologies, where he oversaw end-to-end supply operations for a major U.S. market and assisted in launching the rideshare product in India. He later transitioned to Uber's technology organization, taking on the responsibility of developing product solutions aimed at enhancing user safety on the platform.

Rafiq holds a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in political science from New York University in New York City.
